Rex Grant is an Interior Salish Status Indian from the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Rex graduated from the University of Victoria Faculty of Law in 1995 and went on to open his own firm, specializing in Aboriginal Law. A retired lawyer, he now serves as President and CEO of Tyhee Financial Services, a 100% Indigenous-owned financial investment, consultation, and management firm, where he provides the guiding vision and oversees day-to-day operations.

 

Rex has over thirty years of experience in helping to build capacity, prosperity, and sovereignty among First Nations peoples. He has extensive knowledge and expertise regarding the challenges as well as the opportunities facing Indigenous communities. An expert negotiator, Rex has led successful multi-party negotiations around matters such as land settlements, joint ventures, self-governance, and resource management.​

 

A leader in the field of First Nations fiscal rehabilitation and management, Rex created Tyhee Financial Services to offer the full complement of Indigenous financial and administrative services, including bookkeeping, accounting, audits, training, investment, advice, and mentorship. ​Rex also shares his unique skill set and solution-based approach by offering targeted education and training programs that address the specific needs of First Nations communities operating in remote, under-serviced regions.
